CCRG Pursues CTV-W5
Dear Patients and Friends of the Canadian Cancer Research Group:
As most of you are aware, CTV News / W-Five broadcast a show on the group in January of this year. For those of you who know us, you expressed your enraged indignation of a national broadcaster that aligned itself with the extreme views of a few internet fanatics and zealots. When surfing the internet, the only negative materials regarding the group and myself originate from three highly questionable sources. Those sources, by CTV’s own admission, were the sources for the W-Five show.
The Canadian Cancer Research Group (CCRG) provided to CTV - W5 independent peer-reviewed journal articles, including our own published research that demonstrates the efficacy of our work. CTV refused to report these facts. We provided access to our clinic and laboratory. CTV / W-Five refused to report that the group has a fully accredited clinic and laboratory. We advised CTV that the group maintained membership with Ottawa Life Sciences Council and the Ottawa BioTech Incubation Centre. CTV did not report this. We provided a patient for interview who happened to be a retired Minister of Health. CTV / W-Five refused to interview him.
CTV / W-Five never asked for an interview. They rushed me in parking garages late at night. They trespassed at my home and had to be removed by police. They breached security at our lab. They repeatedly lied to staff and police. They were uncivilized, aggressive, confrontational, and accusatory. They were relentlessly determined to forward the agenda of the internet fanatics and zealots regardless of the facts. CTV abandoned their responsibility as a national broadcaster to be accurate, fair, and honest.
CTV abrogated your rights and freedoms in choice as it concerns healthcare by creating doubt and suspicion where there are grounds for none. CTV / W-Five willingly forwarded the agenda of a few people in favour of an accurate, honest and fair portrayal of the group and the treatment that many of you have chosen and benefited from.
We have sued CTV News and W-Five for Libel and Defamation. We have sued them so that your access to innovative, and medically and scientifically valid treatment is not adversely influenced or obstructed by a broadcaster who is unable to distinguish between facts and extremism.
I welcome your continued support and feedback and am always available for discussion. I can be emailed at woneill@ccrg.com or reached by phone at 1.613.239.0220.
